Royal Mail Strikes

The strikes by Royal Mail are causing problems for many mail-order companies including Masters Games. This page is designed to re-assure our customers by outlining how we have dealt with this issue.
In a nutshell, we have ceased to use Royal Mail for UK shipments until their problems are resolved. Even during periods when strikes are not happening, we do not wish to risk the fact that there may still be large backlogs at sorting offices so the following policy will last from the end of October 2009 until January 2010 or until we are sure that delays have ceased.
UK Deliveries
All parcels under 2Kg sent from our HQ and our fulfillment warehouse will be delivered using Hermes couriers. Hermes are a major national courier offering rates that are not much more expensive than Royal Mail for parcels under 2Kg.
Moast parcels from our HQ and fulfillment warehouse costing more than £50 or weighing more than 2Kg will be sent with one of our reliable UK couriers on a 1 or 2 day service.
The Hermes service can take up to a week. For those needing speedier results, in most cases, there will also be a 'priority' option available from the shopping basket whereby it should be possible to pay extra for a 'next-day' delivery.
A tiny number of shipments (we estimate less than 1%) may still be reliant on Royal Mail - for instance some of our hand-made products are dispatched from locations that are unable to use a courier. If in doubt, please ask us.
International Deliveries
Unfortunately, in some cases it will only be possible for us to send parcels using Royal Mail. This applies mainly to small parcels under 2Kg. The reason for this is that sending parcels like this using any other method would be unfeasibly expensive. International customers should be aware that such parcels may be delayed.
For medium and large shipments, we will continue to use our favoured couriers.
