Masters Traditional Games started in early 1999 as
an internet shop selling only traditional English Pub games. The
owner,
was determined to make sure that old classics such as Shove Ha'penny,
Aunt Sally and Skittles were made available. Many such
games are only produced by cottage industries or obscure sources
not available to the general public. It proved such a success that
the portfolio was soon expanded to include a variety of traditional
board games and classic table games. It was also in this initial
phase that we started our long term relationship working with Jaques
of London, the oldest games company in the world.
From the outset, Masters Games has concentrated on
quality games and quality service. Key suppliers for us are Dal
Negro,
Garden Games, Giglio, Cornilleau and Garlando, all of whom are well-known
leaders in their field producing premium well-made
games. But in order to provide many of the unusual traditional games
that are unique to us, we also obtain games from tiny
craft-shops, import games from overseas and manufacture several
games ourselves.
Another founding principle has been that all our games
will be made available globally and not just within the UK. Accordingly
the website shopping basket has some complex and and unique algorithms
for determining multiple options for sending each
game to the customer's chosen destination and always tries to choose
the most cost-effective method wherever you are in the world.
Over subsequent years, our gaming portfolio has grown
to include Table Tennis Tables, Football Tables, Snooker, Pool,
Croquet,
Bowls, Bridge, Cribbage, Chess, Backgammon, Poker, card games, Dominoes
and fun games for the garden to name but a few. We
also specialise in historical games and classic games from other
parts of the world such as Mah Jong, Carrom, Go, Kubb, Crokinole
and
Sjoelbak. The business has a zero debt policy and almost all sales
are generated by word-of-mouth and from free Internet searches.
These underlying principles and a genuine honest and helpful approach
has meant consistent revenue growth for 10 straight years.
