Here's an excellent Dice Compendium with a nautical theme that includes the classic Sailor's dice game, Crown and Anchor and the old pub classic that also has a maritime history - Shut the Box. The Sailor's dice box measures 305 x 140 x 75 mm and, when opened, the lid forms a felt-lined bay for catching the dice. The other side of the box holds the sliding hatches for Shut the Box plus bays for the following dice: Crown and Anchor dice 5 Poker dice 5 Ordinary dice 1 Option dice for side betting As well as dice, the box includes a felt Crown and Anchor mat, instructions andYacht scoring cards. It is a well finished, polished cabinet with brass fittings and hinges that represents excellent value - so many great dice games in a single, elegant, compact box! The dice box comes with rules for 6 games as follows:

• Shut the Box - Also known as Canoga and 'Batten down the Hatches', this is the old gambling game for as many players as you like. Player throw the dice and choose to shut either the numbers thrown or sum of the numbers thrown. Each player tries to close all the numbers and thus shut the box!
• Crown and Anchor - the classic nautical dice game played with special dice. Again, any number can play in this straightforward gambling game in which bets are placed using the special felt mat.
• Going to Boston - a fast gambling game in which the aim is simply to achieve the highest score.
• Yacht - in which players try to make special patterns using 5 ordinary dice.
• Crew - in which players attempt to collect a complete crew based upon specific rolls of the dice.
• Scuttlebutt - a nautical version of the well-known Poker Dice game.
