History of Table FootballTable football, also known as foosball, is a table-top version
of soccer invented by Alejandro Finisterre from Galicia, Spain. Finisterre was
injured in the Spanish Civil War as a child and, unable to play football as
he would have liked, he came up with the idea of an indoor version of the game
that could be played without feet. Finisterre patented the idea in 1937 but unfortunately lost the
documentary evidence of this while escaping from Spain in a storm during the
time of the Spanish fascist coup. Click on the link to learn more about table
football.
