Descended from old English bagatelle that has been played upon slate-bed tables for centuries in certain British pubs, table-top bagatelle or "Parlour Bagatelle" has been enjoyed by children and adults at home for almost as long.
The original version of this variant of the game called Hit-A-Pin Bagatelle, was first produced by Jaques, the oldest games company in the world, more than a century ago and was supplied to Queen Victoria! It is a straightforward bagatelle variant made from hardwood with a dark Mahogany finish. Fitted with brass-plated pins, gold numbers, 20 chrome steel balls and baize back to protect polished surfaces.
Dimensions approx for Grand version: 76 x 38 cm (30 x 15 inches) - with
5/8" (1.6 cm steel balls)
Please note that although Jaques say that this game comes with a facsimile of the original Jaques instructions, this is no longer true and just a simple sheet of instructions are now being included. This product contains small parts that represent a choking hazard for small children. Not suitable for children under 5 years old.
