This Mah Jong set contains a superior version of the excellent quality Mah Jong tiles - made from bamboo and bone. These tiles have an aged bamboo backing of a darker colour which are connected to the front surface with a dove-tailed join.

The face of the mah jong tiles are hand-painted which again, is the mark of a superior tile but beware - hand-painted tiles have the odd imperfection and the imprint is often not as crisp as the less expensive printed tiles. Hand-painted tiles are less common and generally considered to be better quality but may not suit those who prefer their games to look 100% perfect.

This Mah Jong set is presented in a splendidly made Marquetry case to match the quality of the tiles. The case is inlaid in an attractive pattern and has a convenient carrying handle. Inside are 4 component trays.
