This Mah Jong set contains a premium version of the oft-requested Mah Jong tile - made from bamboo and bone. These tiles have backs that are from aged bamboo which is a darker colour than normal bamboo backs. They are are connected to the front surface with a dove-tailed join.

The mah jong tiles are hand-painted which is generally considered to be give the best quality tile. But note that hand-painted tiles have the odd imperfection and the finish is often not as crisp as printed tiles. So although the level of artistry is superior to printed tiles, they may not suit ardent perfectionists.

This Mah Jong set is presented in a wonderful cabinet with five slide-out drawers. There is a convenient carrying handle and a front piece with a decorative pattern that prevents the drawers from sliding out in transit.

The set is made up of 144 tiles in total:

• 136 standard tiles
• 4 flowers
• 4 seasons
• comes with protective felt cover.

Tiles have English numbers in the corner. Set does not come with rules but Mah Jong rules are readily available on our website and from many other sources. Note this set does not have joker tiles or spare white tiles.
