A Palette is an elegant piece of wooden equipment for gathering and moving cards around on a large gaming table. It is from Dal Negro, the premium games maker from Italy so there is unlikely to be anything better available. This wonderfully aesthetic item is both traditional and practical, being particularly suited to games such as Baccarat. While not exactly our biggest selling item, we just couldn't resist making it available for people because it is just soooooo beautiful. Dimensions: 75cm long.

History of Baccara - BaccaratThe game of Baccarat is of French origin where the spelling is 'Baccara' - English speaking countries added the 't' for no good reason that can be surmised. Despite what you might read on other websites, the game is a relatively recent addition to the realm of card games and most likely appeared in the 1800s. Baccarat soon became extremely popular in nineteenth century France, maintaining a reputation of high stakes and 'class' which still continues today in Casinos around the globe. There are three accepted variants of the game: baccarat chemin de fer (railway), baccarat banque (or à deux tableaux), and punto banco (or North American baccarat). Punto banco is strictly a game of chance, with no skill or strategy involved; each player's moves are forced by the cards the player is dealt. In baccarat chemin de fer and baccarat banque, by contrast, both players can make choices, which allows skill to play a part. |
