Giant Tower etc.

Take turns to remove the wooden bricks from the stack and replace them on the top. The tension mounts until finally the inevitable happens and someone causes the stack to tumble down!

We recommend Towers that stack without gaps between the blocks as they're quicker to build at the start of the game.

Giant Tower

This is the most popular version of the game that we sell - it's great value for money. The manufacturer calls it 'Giant Tower'.

Giant Tower is suitable for pubs, parties, corporate events and pretty much any other gathering of people!

There are 58 blocks (19 tiers + 1 spare block) made from treated FSC renewable pine with smoothed corners. It comes in a simple cardboard box but there are no gaps between the blocks so it's easy to build.

Each pieces is 21cm x 7 cm x 4.5cm. The tower builds from 90cm (3ft) to over 1.5m (5ft) in play. The tower can be dangerous when it topples over so everyone should stand well back when not actually removing a brick and the person removing the brick should take great care not to stand where the tower will fall. This game is not suitable for small children.

Hi Tower

Hi TowerFrom the same company comes another popular version of the game. The game with gaps between the blocks is not quite the same as the classic version. The disadvantage with the gaps is that the tower will take longer to stack up before you can start the game. On the other hand, some people prefer the gaps because it makes gripping the pieces easier.

Hi Tower Storage BoxHi Tower comes in 2 sizes. The original standard Hi Tower starts at 3.5 feet high and can go up to 5 feet in play. Each block is 2855 x 70 x 45mm. As a unique feature, a unique wooden storage box can be bought separately, if desired. These towers can be dangerous when they topple over so everyone should stand well back when not removing a brick and the person removing the brick should take great care not to stand where the tower will fall. This game is not suitable for small children.

Mega Hi TowerBizarrely, the smaller version is called "Mega Hi Tower". Mega Hi Tower starts at around 2 feet (0.66m) and can build to 4 feet (1.25m) in play. Each block is 34 x 70 x 207mm. It is therefore a rather safer bet for children although still not suitable for very young children.

Giant Tumble Tower

From Jaques, the oldest games manufacturer in the world, comes their version of the game called Tumble Tower. Hand-crafted from sustainably sourced New Zealand pine, it is available in no less than 3 different sizes.

The game with gaps between the blocks is not quite the same as the classic version. The disadvantage with the gaps is that the tower will take longer to stack up before you can start the game. On the other hand, some people prefer the gaps because it makes gripping the pieces easier.

Tumble Tower bagThe Giant and the Magnum Tumble Towers come with a green zip bag to store the pieces in.

The Giant Tower is shown to the right. The Magnum Tumble Tower looks very similar.

These towers can be dangerous when they topple over so everyone should stand well back when not removing a brick and the person removing the brick should take great care not to stand where the tower will fall. This game is not suitable for small children.

The Master Tumble Tower is shown to the left - it does not come with a bag.

Jenga & Jericho

Jericho JengaThe original (small) version of the toppling bricks game was Jenga. Invented in East Africa and named after the Swahili word for "build", the rights to Jenga were bought in the 1970s by Hasbro, the corporate toy and games giant. Jenga was for a while the world's biggest selling game and is undoubtedly a modern classic.

Jericho is another popular version of the game with a fun extra feature - five of the blocks have a marble hidden inside. When someone pulls out one of these special blocks, releasing the marble, they are given a crucial bonus - the chance to opt out of a go in the future...

Despite its familiarity, the toppling bricks game continues to entertain and is a good reminder that often the simplest games are the most fun!
