Travel Chess Sets

The purpose of a travel chess set is three-fold. Firstly to be portable and convenient to carry. Secondly, that the pieces will remain undisturbed if the board should be jostled or knocked during a journey. And thirdly that the position on the board can be maintained while being carried. The first travel chess sets were pegged and if designed well, the pieces are held in place when the board is temporarily stowed. The other type of travel chess set is magnetic - these sets tend to be larger but often do not hold the position of the board so robustly when temporarily stored away. Our selection of portable chess sets feature both styles, naturally and represent excellent quality and value.
