The Sherlock Holmes Chess set is a highly detailed, hand-painted chess set featuring characters made famous in the 'Sherlock Holmes' stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The figures are based on the original drawings that appeared in 'Strand' magazine in 1890.
The regular Chess set is made from ground stone resin and comes in contrasting brown and ivory shades so that opposing pieces are easily distinguished. In the decorated version of the Chess set the clothing and accessories have all been painstakingly hand-painted.
