Short Mat Bowlers usually use a heavyweight Jack that is made from a metal core with a special alloy coating. These jacks are often not totally uniformly dense and so sometimes have a slight bias or eccentric weighting. That is because they are only designed to be placed as a target, not rolled and so a perfect density should not be required.

Please be aware that alloy Jacks are prone to chipping - this is unavoidable due to the material and the nature of the game. We will not be able to accept returned Jacks if they have been used. However, we do offer an exchange service whereby you can return your chipped Short Mat Jacks and we will send you som reconditioned Short Mat Jacks in return for a fee. It doesn't matter how badly chipped the Jacks are and you can order this return service in the normal way below.
