Tigers and Goats (Bagha Chal)

The moving tigers game (Bagha Chal) is an interesting board game that is the national game of Nepal. It is a game for two players, one has four tigers and the other twenty goats. The tigers try to capture and eat the goats while the goats attempt to survive by surrounding the tigers so that they cannot move.

Brass Tigers and Goats (Bagha Chal) - 20cm

This is the classic Nepalese version of the Bagha Chal - Moving Tigers game. It is a wooden box covered in a thin brass plating which unfolds to show the Bagha Chal board with a compartment holding the brass tigers and goats.

It's important to note that these items are authentic, traditional pieces that are made in Nepal. They are therefore hand-made and unlike items normally found in high-street chain shops, are subject to minor imperfections. In particular, the stick that comes with each board to secure it when closed is just a piece of unfinished wood. None-the-less, people who enjoy the charm of genuine ethnic products should not be disappointed.
