Tigers & Goats

Bagha Chal - Moving Tigers

The moving tigers game (Bagha Chal) is an unusual board game that is the national game of Nepal. It is a game for two players, one has four tigers and the other twenty goats. The tigers try to capture and eat goats while the goats attempt to survive by moving to surround the tigers so that they cannot move.

These are travelling versions of the moving tigers game. They are brass boxes which unfold to show the Bagha Chal board with a compartment holding the brass tigers and goats. There is a small and a large size of the game. Pictures show the game opened and closed.

You can order either a 20cm Bagha Chal board or 15cm. Pictures shown are of the 20cm board, they are quite small.

It's important to note that these items are authentic, traditional pieces that are made in Nepal. They are therefore hand-made and unlike items normally found in high-street chain shops, are subject to minor imperfections. In particular, the stick that comes with each board to secure it when closed is just a piece of unfinished wood. None-the-less, people who enjoy the charm of genuine ethnic products should not be disappointed.
