AweleMasters Traditional Games has gone to extreme lengths to obtain genuine Awele boards from West Africa. It is easy to buy Chinese-manufactured boards but why do that when you can have the real thing? If Africa were a nation, then Mancala would be the National Game of Africa.
There are hundreds of versions of Mancala played throughout Asia and Africa
and Awele is a popular version of the game. Originating in West Africa
and also played to a high level in the Caribbean, it is now a familar
sight across Europe and America. Often played at competition level but
simple to learn and great for children, enhancing both maths and strategy
skills, from 5 years upwards.
Sourced from Senegal, this Awele game is made from a beautiful light wood called Bete and has unique African carvings. Bete wood is from the walnut family and is mainly found in Africa. It includes real Bonduc seeds and a rules sheet. Dimensions: Approx: 45cm x 10cm x 8cm (closed) - Weight: 800g If you want to play Mancala the proper way, then this is your chance! This product contains small parts that represent a choking hazard for small children. Not suitable for children under 5 years old.
